Table/Column -> Tableau Datasource/Field description propagator

The Table/Column -> Tableau Datasource/Field description propagator replicates tables and columns descriptions to downstream Tableau datasources and fields. The description is replicated only if there is a 1:1 match between the table/column and Tableau datasource/field.

Configuration

• Tableau Connection: Atlan Tableau connection in scope for the propagation.

What it does

1. Fetch all Tableau datasources and fields without description.
2. Get upstream lineage of the fetched assets.
3. If there is only one upstream lineage with description populated, the description is replicated from the relational asset to the downstream Tableau asset.

Recommendation

The package updates the description field.
